Our InstructorsGary Bacon (Master Instructor-5th Dan) -
Gary served in the United States Air Force after which time he started training in Tae Kwon Do in May, 1988. He achieved his Black Belt in October, 1991 from Grand Master Kwon, Jae Hwa. While most students stop training once they achieve Black Belt, thinking that is the end, Gary knew that it was simply the beginning. He went on to achieve his rank of 2nd Dan in October of 1993, 3rd Dan in October 1996, 4th Dan in October 2000, and 5th Dan from The Alliance in October 2008. He became a full time instructor in 1992 and a chief instructor in 1996. He specializes in self-defense because he believes that in today’s world it is the most practical application of martial arts. These skills serve the student in testing and real world situations. Gary’s teaching methods have inspired multiple students to achieve their own black belts since he began his career.
Donald Keyser (Chief Instructor-3rd Dan) -
Donald started training in Tae kwon-Do in September 1994 and in October 2000 achieved his Black Belt from Master Robert J. McCarthy. While many friends stopped at this point, Donald continued his passion of martial arts and went on to achieve his 2nd Degree in April 2002. Donald started teaching at the level of high brown belt as an assistant instructor teaching 4-6 year olds. Once he achieved his Black Belt he taught many classes of all age groups and belt levels. Due to his schooling and the need to recover from injuries, Donald took a short break from martial arts before coming to Team Dragon Martial Arts in September 2006. In November 2006, Donald tested and was recognized as a 2nd Degree Black Belt at Team Dragon Martial Arts. Then in May 2007 he received his 3rd Degree Black Belt at Team Dragon Martial Arts. With the passion of teaching others the skills they need to be better martial artist and more physically fit individuals, Donald continues here at Team Dragon Martial Arts to share his wealth of knowledge and wisdom as many of his peers had done with him. Donald is the Demonstration/Competition Team Leader/Instructor and has lead them to a 1st Place in a State Competition.
